Star Aluminium is one of six Australian businesses under the Star Holdings parent group. We are sharing this structure so our customers understand the wider range of services available to them for their projects. The group traces back to 1999, when Star Aluminium began. Over time, the group has grown to include five other specialised businesses. This growth allows us to provide a broader set of solutions for industrial and commercial sites. The group positioning is simple: One group. Complete solutions.
Access platforms and engineering
Star Aluminium designs and manufactures aluminium access platforms in Australia. We manufacture to AS1657-2018 and hold ISO 9001:2015 certification for our quality management system. Our work platform range provides standard options for many site requirements. We also provide custom engineering for unique site layouts. Every platform we build comes with a lifetime structural warranty. You can learn more about Star Aluminium and our manufacturing process on our website.
Industrial powder coating
A platform or piece of equipment often requires a specific finish for durability or branding. Star Powder Coating provides industrial, architectural and automotive powder coating. Their workshop is located in Dandenong South, Victoria. The facility uses an oven that takes work up to 7.5 metres. They offer hundreds of colours across five powder ranges to suit different site specifications. For example, a customer might order a custom platform from Star Aluminium and request a high visibility safety yellow finish. Rather than the customer arranging a third party for the finish, the platform can go to the Dandenong South facility for coating before final delivery.
Online supply of platforms
Some jobs require off the shelf products for immediate use. Aluminium Platforms handles the online supply of work platforms, step platforms and ladders. They ship these products Australia wide. This business acts as an authorised distributor for several different brands. This allows customers to source standard equipment quickly through a digital storefront without needing to engage in a custom design process.
Future safety equipment and training
We are expanding our capabilities to include more comprehensive site safety. Star Safety Supplies will provide workplace safety gear, site equipment and training. This business is not yet open. It is scheduled to open in October 2026. This future addition will provide a dedicated source for safety gear to complement our access platforms.
Signage and digital services
Proper site identification and safety signage are necessary for any compliant workplace. Star Print and Signage handles the design, manufacture and installation of business and site signage. This service allows a customer to coordinate their physical access equipment with the required visual signage for the same project. Complementing this, Content Mundo provides video production, digital marketing and web services. This allows our clients to create professional visual records of their installations or update their digital presence after a site upgrade.
How this structure helps the customer
A real job often needs more than one trade. A maintenance manager might need a custom platform designed and built. That platform may then need a specific powder coated finish. Once installed, the site needs safety signage and updated safety gear. Having these services inside one group means the different trades can work together. It simplifies the process for the customer when a project is complex. You can access multiple specialised services without searching for different providers across the country.
When a project requires multiple services, the group connection makes communication easier. If a platform needs to go to the Dandenong South workshop for coating, the internal link between Star Aluminium and Star Powder Coating helps the process. The teams understand each other’s requirements and timelines. This coordination helps with the timing of deliveries. We can align the manufacture of a platform with the production of site signs. This reduces the number of different vendors a procurement officer has to manage. It provides a more organised approach to site fit outs and helps manage the project from the design phase through to the final site signage.
What stays the same for you
The group structure does not change how you work with us. Each company runs its own operation with its own team and its own customers. Star Aluminium continues to operate as a separate entity. You still deal with the same contacts and the same project managers.
Each business trades independently. In practice, this means that quoting and invoicing remain separate for each service. If a job covers both manufacture and finishing, each business quotes its own part of the work rather than the group issuing a single combined quote. Your billing and points of contact remain specific to the business providing the service. You are not required to use all six businesses. The group structure is there if you need more than one trade, not to bundle services you did not ask for.
Quality and standards
Star Aluminium maintains its own strict quality controls. Our ISO 9001:2015 certification and our adherence to AS1657-2018 are specific to our manufacturing operations. These standards apply to the platforms we design and build. The lifetime structural warranty is also specific to Star Aluminium platforms.
By keeping these certifications and warranties within the manufacturing business, we keep the responsibility clear. You know exactly which standards apply to your equipment. The other businesses in the group maintain their own operational standards for their specific trades. This separation prevents confusion regarding which entity is responsible for which part of the project.
