Structural Defects
Defects in materials and workmanship affecting structural integrity of the unit, welds, frame, deck, guardrail and load-bearing components. No time limit on standard products.
A Lifetime Structural Warranty backs every standard Star Aluminium product, covering structural defects in materials and workmanship for the working life of the equipment.
Buying access equipment is a long-term commitment. The structural integrity of a platform, stair tower or walkway has to hold up not just at delivery but across years of use in industrial, mining, transport and construction environments. A warranty that ends after a year or excludes structural failure puts the entire cost back on the site.
Star Aluminium covers every standard product with a Lifetime Structural Warranty. This covers structural defects in materials and workmanship throughout the working life of the equipment, not a fixed period, not pro-rated, not limited to the original purchaser. The warranty is backed by the in-house manufacturing process at Carrum Downs, VIC, where every weld and assembly is performed under an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system with a compliance plate fitted before dispatch.
The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, modification or environmental conditions outside the product's rated operating range. If you suspect a warranty claim, contact the Star Aluminium support team with photos and order details, the team will assess and advise on next steps before any equipment is taken out of service or returned.
Four pillars defining the Lifetime Structural cover.
Defects in materials and workmanship affecting structural integrity of the unit, welds, frame, deck, guardrail and load-bearing components. No time limit on standard products.
Every covered unit carries a compliance plate certifying it was built to AS/NZS standards and OH&S requirements at the point of dispatch from the Carrum Downs, VIC facility.
Damage from misuse, unauthorised modification, operation outside the rated load or environmental specification, or normal wear of consumable items (castors, fasteners) is not covered.
Contact Star Aluminium support with photos of the affected area, the original order details and a description of when the issue was identified. Do not return equipment to service until assessed.
The Lifetime Structural Warranty covers structural defects in materials and workmanship for the working life of the product when operated within its rated load capacity and intended application. It applies to all standard Star Aluminium products and provides a clear basis for warranty claims.
No. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, not damage caused by overloading, modification, misuse or normal wear and tear. Equipment must be operated within the rated safe working load (SWL) and in accordance with the product documentation.
Contact the Star Aluminium team with your original order reference, a description of the issue and photographs where available. The team will assess the defect against warranty criteria and advise on the appropriate course of action. Call 1300 305 200 or use the enquiry form on the Contact page.
The Lifetime Structural Warranty is attached to the product, not the original purchaser. Contact Star Aluminium with the original purchase documentation to confirm warranty status for second-hand equipment.
Modifications carried out without prior written approval from Star Aluminium will void the structural warranty on the affected components. All repair work should be assessed by Star Aluminium before any structural work is undertaken to preserve warranty coverage.
