Over 27 Years of Aluminium Fabrication and Height Safety
Star Aluminium has been operating in the aluminium fabrication and height safety industry for 27+ years. Our Managing Director Ali Aydin began his career on the factory floor, learning the full trade, from welding and fabrication through to engineering, sales and operations.
Seven years ago, Ali took ownership of the business. At that time, the team comprised three to four people. Today, Star Aluminium employs 37 people across welding, fabrication, design, sales and management. Over the past five years, the business has grown at approximately 20% per year.
Our products are designed and manufactured at our facility in Carrum Downs, Victoria.
Our Aluminium Work Platform Range
Star Aluminium specialises in height safety access products for industrial, infrastructure and commercial applications. Our standard range includes:
- Work platforms (mobile and fixed)
- Truck access platforms
- Gangway systems
- Walkway systems
- Mezzanine ladders
- Order pickers
We manufacture both standard product ranges and custom-designed solutions built to your specifications.
Mobile work platforms are mounted on wheels with brakes or retractable locking systems. They suit warehousing, order picking and industrial environments where the platform needs to move between positions.
Fixed platforms and handrail systems are permanent installations used on construction sites, in factories and at transport hubs. These are engineered to site specifications and manufactured in Carrum Downs.

Our products have been supplied to major infrastructure programs including the Metro Tunnel project and the Westgate Tunnel project in Victoria. At airports, our platforms are used to access aircraft. Design are handled in-house.

Custom Design and Local Manufacturing in Carrum Downs
Our Carrum Downs facility handles design, fabrication and quality control under one roof. Our standard range has been developed by our in-house team over many years. Much of that standard range was designed personally by Ali Aydin.
For projects outside our standard range, our sales engineering team manages the full process from initial scope through to delivery. We work with clients across all sectors to develop solutions that meet site requirements, compliance standards and operational conditions.
Our manufacturing is based at our Carrum Downs facility. We continue to invest in local production and support Australian jobs.
2025 Innovation and Technology Excellence Award
In late November 2025, Star Aluminium was named winner of the Innovation and Technology Excellence Award at the Frankston Business Chamber Gala Awards. The awards program covers approximately ten categories. Stuart Hayes, Vice Chair of the Frankston Business Chamber, confirmed the award details during the interview.
